“Are we dancing?”

I approach training like I’m designing educational glitter: I want it to stick to every surface in your brain, so you’re still finding specs of it years down the line. I also always aim to dance.

The thesis of a video I saw years ago stuck with me: You can’t learn ballroom dancing exclusively from a lecture.

Before—and throughout the learning development process—I want to be sure the content is delivered in the best format for the subject matter. Whether it’s a hands-on experience, eLearning, walkthrough, job aid, or video, the learner should always have an opportunity to dance.
