Designer Drinks: Mobile Mixology
Role: Copywriter & Designer (Contract)
Timeline: 2 weeks
Tools: Dall-E, Photoshop, Procreate, Google Workspace
Stakeholders: Small business owners of Designer Drinks
Needs: The clients were seeking a simple illustrated logo for their mobile mixology business, and additional branding for drink package names and web design.
Outcome: I delivered a logo, drinks packages, and copy for their website. Over the summer, I’m also contracted to shoot one of their events for images they can use on their website and social media accounts.
It started with a glass.
The client only had two requests for the logo:
It needed to feature a drink.
It needed to be pink. Somewhere.
So I used Dalle to get some options I could share to help narrow down what they were looking for.
I used Photoshop to clean up any AI hallucinations and add the text.
Iterating
Draft 1
The ladies liked the pink martini glass with lime the best, so we moved forward with this one to mock up the words in other ways.
Draft 2
Sometimes you have to try a really bad idea before you land on the winner!
We wanted to try one with a gradient b ackground, but everyone agreed it was a step in the wrong direction.
If I had to do this again, I’d try for a bokeh effect instead of the horizontal lines.
Draft 3
The winner! We went through several font options before landing on this one (and I’m still not happy with how the I’s line up, but it is what it is!).
The client loved it and was super excited to start printing it on their event T-shirts.
Drink packages
The ladies had come up with four packages on their own: Mocktail, Basic, Moderate, and Premium — but they wanted something that felt more bespoke. More luxury.
Mocktails became Minimalist Mocktails
Basic became Bubbly Basics
Moderate became Lavish Libations
Premium became Platinum Pours
